Congratulations on taking the Lay Precepts with Ordinary Zen Sangha at our Retreat in Nature, this Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Myakka River State Park.

For the retreat, please plan to arrive early (around 9:30 a.m.) to get settled. The retreat will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. Throughout the day, there will be several sitting and walking meditations, plus a Dharma talk and a vegetarian/vegan potluck lunch. The retreat will be held in silence. No phones or talking in the Log Pavilion and the attached picnic areas. Please feel free to talk to me privately away from the main area during our lunch break, should you have any questions or concerns.

The retreat will end by 3:30 p.m. The Precepts Ceremony will begin at 4:00 p.m. You are welcome to invite friends or family to witness the ceremony. Guests should plan to arrive between 3:30 and 4:00 p.m. Preceptees and witnesses should be in the Log Pavilion no later than 4:00 p.m. We will need to be finished and packed up by sundown, around 5:30 p.m.
