Dear reader,
Welcome to the Retreat in Nature at Myakka River State Park, this Saturday, March 5, 2022.
Please plan to arrive early, as the retreat will begin promptly at 10:00 am with a brief introductory talk. We will start by chanting the Heart Sutra, followed by sitting and walking meditations. In the main Dharma Hall (Log Pavilion), silence is to be observed. Leave your shoes outside of the Dharma Hall. During ten-minute walking meditations, you may take personal time and use the bathroom located nearby. Talking during the lunch hour is permitted, however, please be mindful of those around you who may prefer silence. As much as possible, refrain from unnecessary chatter. Cell phones are to be off on the Pavilion grounds during the retreat. We have several meditation zafu and zabuton cushions for use. However, if you have your own cushions, please bring them. There are benches available for sitting, but you may want to bring a cushion. Let me know if you require a chair.

There will be several sitting and walking meditations throughout the day, Dharma Talks, and a vegetarian/vegan potluck lunch.
  • We will provide an assortment of teas--herb, green, black--caffeinated, and decaf.
  • We will provide a cooler with bottled spring water.
  • We will provide plates, cups, napkins, and flatware for our potluck.
The retreat will be over by 6:00 pm. There is no set fee to attend, however, a donation will help us defray our costs. Donate Here
