Zen Master Chong An Sunim is coming to Sarasota in March!

Zen Master Chong An Sunim's Schedule for March 8-10, 2019

  • Friday, March 8th: Dharma Talk
  • Saturday, March 9th: *One-day retreat till late evening.
  • Sunday, March 10th: *Morning sitting with a circle talk, precepts/memorial ceremony at 11 am, potluck lunch at 12 pm.
*The schedule details TBA. More events may be added for Chong An Sunim's visit. A signup form will be available on OZS website after the New Year...

Ordinary Zen Sanga - Practice Schedule

Wednesday Evening Dharma Study

7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
The practice session begins promptly at 7:00 pm with the chanting of the Heart Sutra. Sit in zazen for twenty-five minutes. Then we serve tea and study the teachings of the great Zen teachers using various references and commentaries. Currently, we are studying The Platform Sutra of Hui-neng.

Sunday Evening
Group Zazen Practice

6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
The practice session begins promptly at 6:00 pm with the chanting of the Heart Sutra. We sit in zazen for twenty-five minutes, do a walking meditation for five minutes, and another twenty-five minutes of sitting in zazen. After the last sitting, we serve tea and have a dharma talk and a brief discussion related to our practice.
